Must make trades for each National League East team: Atlanta Braves

Trade idea: Acquire Anthony DeSclafani

The National League East is somewhat of a jumbled mess. Only one team amongst them, the New York Mets, has a winning record. The rest of the group has been floating in mediocrity all year long.

Still, every single one of those teams has a chance to win the division. The Mets haven’t built an insurmountable lead and with the right move, a team like the Atlanta Braves can snatch the division crown.

While young guys such as Shohei Ohtani, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Fernando Tati’s Jr. continue to soak up the spotlight, Ronald Acuna Jr. is still right up there with them all. What the Braves could use more than anything else, is a bit of reinforcement at the pitcher position.

None of their starters strikes fear into the hearts of any batters. To change that, the Braves need a bonafide ace. Maybe a guy like Anthony DeSclafani of the San Francisco Giants could become the play. He has an ERA of 2.84 and his 1.02 WHIP checks in at 16th in the league.

Getting him though, could prove to be a lot more difficult than they imagine. The Giants currently have a slim lead on the LA Dodgers for the National League West crown. If the Braves were willing to part ways with some of their strong offensive talent not named Robert Acuna Jr., they could pry DeSclafani away.
