Must make trades for each American League Central team: Cleveland Indians

Trade idea: Acquire Starling Marte

The outfielder position hasn’t been exactly kind to the Cleveland Indians.

Harold Ramirez is having a solid first year with his new club. His on base percentage of .323 is solid and his slugging percentage is notable at .462. The lack of home runs will always be a concern as he still has single digits although the season is coming to a close. That’s been the problem with the Indians all season long as they hovered around .500.

With the trade deadline creeping around the corner, the Indians should make a hard push to grab Miami Marlins outfielder, Starling Marte. He isn’t much of an upgrade when it comes to the long ball. In fact, he has the exact same homers as Ramirez with six but his overall numbers would make the Indians a better overall team. Marte has an on base percentage of .402 and simply knows how to get the ball in play. He’s always hung around a batting average near .300 for his career and currently, he holds an average of .291.

Marte is the kind of upgrade at outfielder that the Indians need. He won’t be the panacea to all of their issues but he’ll play a key role in turning this squad around.
