Must make trades for each American League Central team: Detroit Tigers

Trade idea: Acquire Clint Frazier

Don’t let the horrific numbers fool you. Clint Frazier can still be a stud.

The 2021 campaign hasn’t been one he’ll like to reminisce about though. The championship dreams of the New York Yankees have turned into a nightmare. They’ve been far and away one of the most disappointing teams in the entire league. As for Frazier, his numbers have been putrid.

He’s currently batting only .186, has 34 hits and by the looks of it, won’t even get to double-digit homers as he currently sits at five. Regardless of those stats, Frazier has always been a very good player. In both 2019 and 2020, his batting percentage rested at .267. His slugging percentage in both years was also north of .480.

More than anything, Frazier struggles with playing time as he sits behind Aaron Judge. The Detroit Tigers could use a player of his ilk. Making the playoffs has become a laughable statement as the Tigers languish under .500. Matt Manning, Joey Wentz, Casey Mizz and Tarik Skubal are a good core to build around but they’ll need more. Considering that Frazier is only 26 and can be an on base machine, the Tigers could use him to speed up their rebuilding process.
