The Chicago Cubs are in an enviable spot as sellers at the MLB trade deadline. With multiple players that could fetch a high return, the Cubs can speed up their rebuild, turning it into a true reloading process instead. But it will take time for those deals to happen.
At least, that would normally be the case. The Cubs are instead reportedly looking to pull off a multi-team deal that would clear everyone out at once.
There is some buzz about potential multi-team deals that one exec said would be "pretty chaotic" if they came to fruition. Thinking teams with multiple players to deal (such as the Cubs with Bryant/Baez/Kimbrel/Davies) could try to orchestrate a multi-team trade to fill needs.

Chicago Cubs could end the day in one move
With Kris Bryant, Javier Baez, Craig Kimbrel, and Zach Davies all on the market, as well as other smaller pieces, the Cubs have plenty of suitors calling in. It is a matter of maximizing their return, and finding a team, or teams, willing to meet that price.
As such, it makes sense to attempt a multi-team deal. While several teams are in on one of that group, they may not be interested in the other. However, they could have a prospect needed to make such a move happen.
Chances are, it is too close to the deadline for such a deal to happen. There are a lot of moving parts that would need to come together for a trade of that magnitude, especially with multiple teams involved.
But strange things can happen at the trade deadline. Deals can come together quickly, especially as teams get more desperate to improve, or to sell. The Cubs multi-team deal could end up coming together a lot faster than one would expect.
The Chicago Cubs are reportedly looking to put together a blockbuster multi-team deal. While such a trade is unlikely, it is still possible.
