When your MLB team’s season ends, unless they’re the world champs, it is a sad day. No more baseball until February, which seems like an eternity for diehards. Well, it’s tough for the players and managers too. How do they say goodbye to playing in front of thousands in the stands? Here is what we have seen from Twitter over the last few days from those who have already packed up their lockers for the year.
Carson Kelly expresses his appreciation for the fans.
2021 season in the books. Thank you for your support throughout the ups, downs, sideways and zig zags. Next year vision starts now👀

MLB players express appreciation for fans in farewell posts
Mark Melancon, despite being disappointed in the shocking ending for the Padres, still enjoyed his time in San Diego.
San Diego- thank you so much for the support this season and helping me continue to do what I love! This year was special for me and while it wasn't the outcome we were hoping for, my family has loved being here. Padres and 🦈 nation, you're the best! @Padres pic.twitter.com/sYR93PFn2o

Robbie Ray, after a potential Cy Young season, was grateful to be back in Toronto for at least part of the season.
I know we fell short of our ultimate goal, but it was still an unforgettable year. Best group of guys & it was absolutely electric to finally experience the home field advantage that Jays fans bring to the Rogers Centre. Thank you for a very special year, Toronto! #WeAreBlueJays pic.twitter.com/NtzDf5vvwe

Jameson Taillon is ready for next year already, as are Yankees fans.
Wish the season could have ended differently. But- it was an absolute honor to put on the pinstripes and wear New York across my chest for the first time. After a tough end to the season, narrowly missing the playoffs, Mitch Haniger took the opportunity to recognize a long-time teammate of his, Kyle Seager, who will likely be playing elsewhere next year.
When damn near every teammate is crying, you know how beloved a guy is. Kyle Seager you are the man. It was an honor to play with you and I’ll never forget how you treated me. #15 #cap #10moreyears pic.twitter.com/evIgoKTz5e

Of course, some MLB players have moved on. Looks like Juan Soto is staying plugged into the game, even if the Nats aren’t playing anymore.
