Joc Pederson is no stranger to the World Series. He had been a part of the Dodgers’ NL Championship roster in 2017, 2018, and 2020, finally taking home the World Series title last year. Now with the Atlanta Braves, he is looking to add a second consecutive title to his impressive postseason resume.

Should the Braves win the World Series, Pederson’s resume will become all the more impressive. He will become the ninth player in MLB history to win consecutive championships with two different teams.

Pederson would be the first player to join that group since Ben Zobrist in 2015-16. However, Pederson will not be able to match the first player in that group, Allie Clark, who won the World Series in his first two major league seasons with the Yankees and Indians respectively.

He has certainly stepped up in the postseason. Pederson has a lifetime .862 OPS with 12 homers and eight doubles in his 201 playoff plate appearances entering the World Series, as Joctober has been a consistent part of the postseason since 2015.

That excellent run has continued this year. Powered by his pearl necklace and incredible confidence, Pederson has slugged three homers and driven in nine runs so far for Atlanta. He has become a vocal leader for the Braves, insistent that their magical run will end with the franchise’s first championship since 1995.

If Pederson is correct, it will be a bit of an upset. The Braves have been underdogs in each round of the playoffs thus far. But that is exactly where they want to be – ignored by the pundits and sneaking in under the radar. It fits the Braves, even if Pederson has been adamant about their chances each round.
