In November, the New York Yankees designated outfielder Clint Frazier for assignment. He had an awful season in 2021 that was due partially due to the lack of consistent playing time and partially due to injury. He ended up signing with the Chicago Cubs.

He took to social media to express how thrilled he is to be joining the Cubs and how thrilled he is to be leaving the New York Yankees in the rearview mirror.

Former New York Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier is very happy that he’s joining the Chicago Cubs

Clint Frazier, 27, spent the last six seasons in the New York Yankees organization, but he received little playing time due to being blocked in the outfield by Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge, and others. Also, he was injured a lot. Now, he is going to be playing with the Chicago Cubs and Frazier said on Twitter that he is thrilled to join them.

In his first tweet in a thread of tweets, Frazier attached a photoshopped image of himself wearing a Chicago Cubs home jersey and he said that the Cubs uniforms are “soooo sick!” He added that “one of the biggest reasons i (sic) chose to come here was the fan base and how electric you guys can be towards your players. i’ll (sic) be just as electric for you guys too.”

He ended the first tweet by trolling the Yankees and their no facial hair policy by saying “here’s to leaving my razor at home.”

In the series of tweets, Frazier also said that being happy to be with the Cubs is partially due to being with a team where he’ll “get a better chance at playing.”

One fan quote tweeted Frazier’s tweet saying that he was “glad” that Frazier isn’t a Yankee anymore and Frazier said, “so am i (sic).”

Frazier is a former top prospect who was ranked as high as #24 overall on MLB.com’s Top 100 Prospects list so, perhaps, if he can stay healthy and be out of the limelight of New York, he can get some more consistent playing time and live up to the hype.
