The Miami Marlins are known to be shopping for upgrades to their lineup. It is also known that they are willing to move some of their young pitching to bring in the right players as they are looking to build a team that can contend for the foreseeable future. That willingness to trade from their young arms could include Sixto Sanchez.

Although Sanchez is thought to be untouchable, that may no longer be the case. According to Craig Mish, the organization has not had anything positive to say about the young pitcher over the past year.

Miami Marlins reportedly displeased with Sixto Sanchez

This would presumably have to do with Sanchez and his recovery from his shoulder injury. It is possible that Sanchez is not putting in the effort that the Marlins would want to see during his rehab, or has just outright ignored the organization in those aspects.

The Marlins would be selling low on Sanchez. He had torn the posterior capsule in his right shoulder, requiring surgery that sidelined him for the 2021 season. The hope was that he would be ready for the 2022 campaign, giving the Marlins yet another dominant arm that they can build around.

Instead, Sanchez could be on his way out the door, regardless of whether or not they would be selling low. He still has plenty of promise and the stuff where he could potentially be a top of the rotation arm. However, due to his injury and the Marlins’ questions about his willingness to rehab, it may be time to see what they can get for his services.

To further complicate matters, Sanchez feels as though he is completely ready. He stated that he was at 100% in a recent interview, making the timing of this report all the more peculiar. It may well be that Sanchez feels he is back to full health, but the Marlins may disagree with that assessment. Either way, the Marlins’ front office is not as enamored with their young pitcher any longer.
