New York Mets

The New York Mets have emerged as one of the winners of the offseason. Adding Kris Bryant would only solidify that status.

As it is, they have added a second staff ace, completely revamped their outfield, and improved their depth. The roster is much more versatile and dynamic than it had been at the end of the 2021 season. However, there are still question marks on the roster.

One of those is at third base. The current depth chart has either Escobar or Jeff McNeil as the starter at the hot corner, but both may be better served as utility players. McNeil may also see a great deal of time at second as no one knows what, if anything, Robinson Cano has left.

Bryant would allow that to happen while also increasing the Mets’ roster versatility. He would be yet another powerful bat in the middle of the lineup, someone that could make a drastic difference as the Mets look to return to the postseason. After their most recent spending spree, what’s a few hundred million more?

The New York Mets have been working to improve their lineup. Adding Kris Bryant will continue to do exactly that.
