If you’re a St. Louis Cardinals fan looking for the perfect way to not only enjoy the holidays but also spend time with your favorite mascot, your holiday wishes have come true.

Check out the “Fredbird Yule Log” video from the St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals are giving their fans a gift this holiday season with a two-hour video featuring Fredbird, the team mascot, with a yule log and a chair. Need a change of pace from the typical yule log scene you might put on your television as a background distraction when Grandpa Bob starts telling his stories from that one overseas trip again? The Cardinals have you covered.

And it isn’t just a video of Fredbird hanging out in front of the fire. The Cardinals mascot takes care of some cookies, reads a book, pulls up a blanket, and does other things to keep you wondering exactly what he’s going to do next.

Check out the two-hour looping video below.

While there is no sign of new Cardinals pitcher Steven Matz, the biggest splash St. Louis made before the Major League Baseball lockout went into effect, at least the Cardinals are finding a way to stay connected with their fans as the holidays approach and the lockout rolls along. Will St. Louis add to its bullpen when the lockout ends as has been rumored? Fredbird doesn’t seem too interested in sharing any details on that, seemingly taking a break from the baseball news to simply enjoy the fire and some down time.

According to the Cardinals web site, Fredbird has been entertaining fans since April of 1979. Now, nearly 43 years later, Fredbird has his own holiday special. So, if you’re a Cardinals fan, gather the family around to see exactly what Fredbird will do next. It’s better than Grandpa Bob’s tales of travel, right?

Note: If you’d like a longer yule log version with a different mascot, the Phillie Phanatic’s four-hour yule log video has you covered.
