Los Angeles Dodgers super utility player Chris Taylor may be known for getting clutch hits at Chavez Ravine, but he also sure knows how to spectacularly bookend days in a month to make it a 31-day span worth remembering.

Chris Taylor of the Los Angeles Dodgers had a December that was impressive on many levels

Just before the Major League Baseball lockout went into effect on December 1, Chris Taylor and the Los Angeles Dodgers came together on a four-year, $60 million deal that will keep him in a Dodgers uniform through the 2025 season (with a club option for the 2026 campaign as well).

That’s quite a way to start the month, but Taylor finished the month (and year) on an exceptionally strong note as well.

On his Instagram page, Taylor revealed that he proposed to his girlfriend, Mary Keller, in Hawaii on December 30. Keller is a native of Hawaii and Taylor added on his Instagram page that he was “beyond grateful to be apart (sic) of your Hawaii family.”

Taylor’s proposal was captured by a friend and the post included a shot of the engagement ring and Taylor and Keller posing with family.

Signing a contract on December 1 and getting engaged on December 30 certainly makes it a month to remember for Taylor, who is coming off a season where he earned his first-ever All-Star Game nod and played six different positions for the Dodgers. While he slashed .254/.344/.438 with 20 home runs and 73 RBI in the regular season, he also had plenty of highlight moments in the postseason to help the Dodgers reach the National League Championship Series.

Perhaps most notable of all was Taylor’s dramatic walkoff home run in the National League Wild Card Game at home against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Taylor followed his Wild Card impact by posting an eye-popping .476/.542/1.048 slash line with three homers and nine RBI in 24 plate appearances during the NLCS against Atlanta.

It was certainly a great October for Taylor, but December seems to have somehow topped it.
