With a National League MVP and two All-Star Game appearances to his credit, Christian Yelich has made a name for himself as one of the most dynamic players in Major League Baseball. Unfortunately for the Milwaukee Brewers slugger, he had to find a workaround to make a name for himself on TikTok.

Christian Yelich of the Milwaukee Brewers is in a TikTok battle for his own name

When Yelich decided he was ready to join TikTok, he was surprised to find that someone had already claimed his name (christianyelich) on the social media site. The Milwaukee Brewers All-Star decided to take another TikTok name (christian.yelich) and announce to the world he had his eyes peeled for the owner of his name (without the period in the middle) on the site.

As of the time of this writing, Yelich (the real one) had nearly 5,000 TikTok views of his video announcing his battle and had gained more than 2,000 followers.

Along with the video posted on Twitter to his 208,000-plus followers, Yelich has also taken to Instagram with the notice, where he has more than 648,000 followers.

Yes, it’s safe to say that Yelich has grabbed his fair share of the social media market, but he’s not done yet. He has just one post on TikTok so far, with likely more to come depending on the outcome of his battle for his name.

And Yelich doesn’t just have the followers on social media. He also uses his channel to connect with those interested in his thoughts. Yelich recently shared the sentiments of many baseball fans when he took to Twitter with a simple message.

No matter what name he may go by on social media, Yelich is ready to return to the diamond after an injury-plagued 2021 campaign that followed a statistically disappointing pandemic-shortened 2020 season (.205/.356/.430 slash line).

And maybe, just maybe, he will share some of his thoughts about it on TikTok … on whichever channel he eventually calls home.
