We will find out which players, if any, are inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame on Tuesday. On Monday, FanSided announced the results of their mock Hall of Fame ballot, with 35 ballots being turned in.

Those 35 ballots led to three players being inducted in this exercise. Barry Bonds, David Ortiz, and Roger Clemens each surpassed the 75% threshold, with Andruw Jones, Scott Rolen, and Alex Rodriguez each surpassing 60%.

Bonds, Ortiz, Clemens inducted in mock MLB Hall of Fame vote

Only one player had been inducted in the three prior years of this exercise. Derek Jeter was voted in during the 2020 ballot, with no player receiving more than 64% of the vote last year. Bonds was the highest vote getter for the second year in a row, while Clemens just slipped in.

Chances are, this vote will not reflect the votes from the BBWAA. As it currently stands, it seems probable that Ortiz is inducted as he has received 84.1% of the vote per Ryan Thibodaux and the Hall of Fame tracker. Bonds is currently at 76.9%, with Clemens receiving 75.8% of the vote.

Bonds and Clemens are almost assured of seeing that number dip with the non-public votes are revealed and the final numbers announced. They have had a great deal of support amongst those who announce their votes prior to the official announcement from the Hall of Fame, only to see their percentages drastically decrease.

The same may happen with Ortiz as well. Although he is seemingly on his way to being enshrined this year, it is not a given. His own PED suspicion, and the fact that he spent most of his career as a designated hitter, could work against him in those private votes. At least that trio are Hall of Famers in the eyes of the FanSided MLB division.
