Clint Frazier certainly does not take himself too seriously. The Chicago Cubs outfielder has been known for his outgoing personality and willingness to poke fun at himself and his career. He has been a refreshing change of pace on social media, showing himself to be one of the more accessible players in the game.

Sadly, Frazier may need to move on to another career due to the ongoing lockout. He posted on his Twitter account about how it may be time to apply for that job at McDonald’s that everyone expected he would be working.

Frazier was, at least, able to appear in parts of five major league seasons with the Yankees. A one time top prospect who was part of the return for Andrew Miller, the Yankees refused to consider Frazier in trade talks for years. At the end, he was released from the 40 man roster, signing with the Cubs just before the lockout.

He showed flashes of his potential during his time in New York. Frazier appeared as though he was set to claim a major role with the Yankees after his breakout 2020 campaign, when he produced a .267/.394/.511 batting line in his 160 plate appearances, hitting eight homers and six doubles. As the Yankees needed help in the outfield, he had the perfect opportunity to make an impact.

Instead, Frazier battled injury and inconsistency yet again in 2021. His .186/.317/.317 batting line in 218 plate appearances was a disappointment, as were his five homers and nine doubles. Frazier went from being an untouchable asset to off the roster in a matter of months.

Maybe he will be able to live up to his potential in Chicago. Maybe getting out of New York will make a difference and he can find a way to be a productive player. If not, there is always McDonald’s.
