Major League Baseball has not done much right by their minor league players, but they are taking steps to rectify that situation. Teams are being made to provide housing for their players, something that should have been done years ago. It will help alleviate one of the larger costs for those players and put more money back into their pockets.

The Los Angeles Angels are one of the teams whose minor leaguers have struggled with housing over the years. Sam Blum, the Angels’ beat reporter for The Athletic, reached out to get a sense of what the team was doing for their players. Suffice to say that the response he received was not overly encouraging.

Los Angeles Angels swear that there is a plan for minor league housing

Those responses are a lot of words to say absolutely nothing. Essentially, the Angels are claiming that they have a plan that they have put a lot of work into. They have had plenty of conversations and looked at different options. There is a plan, a good plan.

But what is the plan? They cannot say. All that the Angels can say is that it is a plan that is coming into place and that their minor leaguers will have housing for the 2022 season. What is that housing and where is it located? Well, those are minor details that are making one overlook the fact that there is a plan.

There is still approximately a month before full season minor leagues begin. That means that there is time for the Angels, and other teams, to figure out the housing situation. However, that time is getting much shorter with each passing day. Those plans are going to need to be more than some abstract concept soon.

The Los Angeles Angels have a plan to house their minor leaguers. They just cannot say what it is just yet, but it will be huge.
