If Noah Syndergaard can pitch for the Los Angeles Angels as well as he can destroy fans on Twitter, the team will have finally added a top of the rotation arm.
It all started innocently enough. Syndergaard tweeted out a headshot of himself wearing an Angels’ cap, saying that it was his new profile picture. Pretty standard fare for someone who had switched teams and needed to update their information.

And that really should have been it. But that would not have been newsworthy at all. Instead, a fan proceeded to ask why the team is called the Los Angeles Angels when they do not actually play in Los Angeles. Syndergaard then proceeded to make that person question all of their life choices to that moment.
To be fair, it is a good question. The Angels play in Anaheim, regardless of how much they want to claim Los Angeles as their own. In fact, the stadium is approximately 30 miles from Los Angeles. It would be the same as the A’s claiming that they are from San Francisco, aside from the fact that San Fran is closer.
But this really is not the sort of question that Syndergaard can answer. He just throws the ball and cashes his paycheck. The decision to tack Los Angeles onto the Angels’ team name in a desperate bid for attention is not his call. That question, as valid as it is, should be directed at Arte Moreno.
In the meanwhile, Syndergaard is going to take his shots. In doing so, he committed a murder right in front of everyone, destroying some poor random person on Twitter. With Jeff Passan’s kill streak over after being hacked, Syndergaard is looking to take up the mantle.
Noah Syndergaard delivered a very important message on Thursday. Do not ask him why the Los Angeles Angels claim to be from Los Angeles.
