Cincinnati Reds ace Luis Castillo will be a hot commodity in the coming weeks and months before the trade deadline. Since the Reds have gotten rid of nearly all of their best players in recent months, it stands to reason that Luis Castillo will be one of those that will also be traded in the near future.

There are 10 teams that should really be looking at him in the first part of the season to either get their team closer to the playoffs or help a rotation on a team that already looks like a playoff team. So who should those teams be?

1) The Los Angeles Dodgers should trade for Cincinnati Reds ace Luis Castillo

The Los Angeles Dodgers are, arguably, the best team in baseball. However, the back end of their rotation is a bit suspect.

Their four and five starters are (as of this publication) slated to be Andrew Heaney and Tony Gonsolin. The two combined to have a 1.5 rWAR in 2021. Castillo had an rWAR of 4.8 in his MLB-leading 33 starts in 2021 with a 3.98 ERA, a 3.75 FIP, and an ERA+ of 120.

They also have the prospects to get a deal done.

2) Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies are a team that baffles a lot of other teams but, really, it’s not that hard to understand *what* they are doing: they are trying to be a better team in 2022. They have signed Kris Bryant to play left field, Alex Colomé as their closer, José Iglesias as their shortstop, and Chad Kuhl for the back of their rotation. Iglesias and Kuhl, essentially, replaced Trevor Story and Jon Gray, so those are downgrades.

However, since they are showing that they are trying to win with their other additions, the Giants and Dodgers almost certain regression off their 107- and 106-win seasons, and another playoff spot, Luis Castillo would be a perfect fit for the Rockies for those reasons and a few others.

The biggest problem for the Rockies will be if they have enough prospects to get Castillo.
