The Atlanta Braves will begin defense of their 2021 World Series title on Thursday night when they host the Cincinnati Reds at Truist Park. It will be the Opening Day matchup for both teams.

Where can you watch the Cincinnati Reds vs. Atlanta Braves Opening Day game?

ESPN2 has picked up coverage of the game, and will add an extra bonus for all baseball fans.

At 7:30 p.m. (Eastern), a special edition of Baseball Tonight will air live that will showcase the Atlanta Braves raising their World Series banner as part of a special pregame ceremony. ESPN2 will then continue coverage of the actual game, which is scheduled to begin at 8:08 p.m. (Eastern).

During the game, Karl Ravech will provide play-by-play with analysts Eduardo Perez and Tim Kurkjian joining him in the booth.

The Opening Day game will also be available on MLB.TV (subscription required)

Where can you listen to the Cincinnati Reds vs. Atlanta Braves Opening Day game?

On ESPN Radio, Roxy Bernstein and Buster Olney will have the call. The Cincinnati broadcast will air on flagship station WLW 700 AM as well as throughout the Reds Radio Network. From the Atlanta side, 680 AM, 93.7 FM, and 1600/1460/1130 AM (Spanish) will carry the game locally, as will the Braves Radio Network.

Regarding pitching matchups, Tyler Mahle (13-6, 3.75 ERA in 2021) will get the Opening Day nod for the Reds while Max Fried (14-7, 3.04 ERA) will start on the mound for Atlanta. It will be Mahle’s first Opening Day start while it will be Fried’s second consecutive time to start on Opening Day.
