Los Angeles Dodgers: Trevor Bauer has leave extended again
At some point in time, one would imagine that Major League Baseball will make a decision on Trevor Bauer. The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher has been on administrative leave since the middle of the 2021 season, remaining in limbo as it pertains to the league’s domestic violence policy. Although his legal case may be over, Bauer is still under investigation by the league.
That investigation is apparently ongoing. MLB announced that Bauer’s leave has been extended through April 22 as they continue to determine a course of action.
Los Angeles Dodgers still waiting for answer on Trevor Bauer
It is fair to wonder why this investigation is facing so many delays. Marcell Ozuna had also been suspended for violating the domestic violence policy, but had his suspension handled shortly after the lockout came to an end. One would have imagined the same would be the case with Bauer.
But that is not what is happening. The league keeps extending his administrative leave for some reason. It may be that they are not done with their investigation, but it is fair to wonder what they had been doing during the lockout.
Bauer would certainly make a difference for the Dodgers pitching staff. He had been a top of the rotation arm before being placed on leave, giving the Dodgers exactly what they had hoped for. His presence, if he eventually does return to Los Angeles, would make their rotation that much better.
The problem is that the league needs to figure out what they are going to do with him first. His status in limbo is not helping either the Dodgers nor the league move on. Bauer remains a story by not being a part of their roster no matter how much the league may want this to go away.
Major League Baseball has extended Trevor Bauer’s leave once again. At some point in time, the Los Angeles Dodgers might know what is happening with him.
