3) If Luke Voit did that to Luke Stephenson, Tommy Pham would be destroyed by him.

San Diego Padres first baseman Luke Voit is listed at 6-3 and 255 pounds. He is not a small man. Tyler Stephenson is 6-4 and 225 pounds. Tommy Pham is 6-1 and 224 pounds.

Pham would be destroyed by Voit.

4) The Reds already have enough injuries

The Reds are the worst team in baseball. Part of it is because they got rid of most of their veteran talent this offseason but they have had a ton of injuries.

Another injury is upsetting for the Reds and Reds fans but they don’t need Pham to be on the IL himself because he’s being a hothead … and that leads to Pham’s recent history

5) Tommy Pham has already been injured and struggled himself in recent years

Tommy Pham has struggled last year at the plate. Part of it was from his recovering from being stabbed in the back outside of a San Diego strip club in October 2020. He proved that he wasn’t an instigator and he settled with the club out of court.

The last thing he needs is to be seriously hurt again.

Emotions can obviously run high on a situation like this. You have to appreciate teammates coming to the defense of Stephenson and being upset that their teammate is hurt.

But, essentially, volunteering to injure yourself after a guy clearly did not mean to injure your teammate is a recipe for disaster, especially when you’re smaller than your teammate that got “smoked” in the words of Voit.

Pham is probably upset at how poorly the team is doing and with the slew of injuries to the team right now but he needs to pipe down for the good of his team and for himself.
