The New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles are scheduled to begin a three-game series tonight at Yankee Stadium. However, weather may well become a factor as the evening goes along.

Here are the latest weather updates from Yankee Stadium as the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles prepare to open a three-game series

In Tuesday’s opening game, Yankees right-hander Luis Severino (who could be an X-factor for the Yankees this season) is scheduled to take the mound and make his fourth start of the season. So far in 2022, Severino is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA and has struck out 14 batters in 13.0 innings. He has gone exactly five innings in his last two starts, including his last start in Detroit when the Tigers logged seven hits off him but he allowed just one earned run.

He has not faced Baltimore so far this season, but is 5-1 with a 3.31 ERA in 10 games (eight starts) in his career against the Orioles.

Opposing Severino is Jordan Lyles, who is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA in three starts with the Orioles so far this season. The 31-year-old right-hander started against the Yankees on April 15, allowing six hits and one run in 5.1 innings of work. In a 91-pitch outing, Lyles walked two and struck out four as part of a 2-1 Baltimore walk-off win in 11 innings.

Baltimore took two of three from the Yankees in a mid-April weekend series at Camden Yards. This is scheduled to be the first meeting between the two teams at Yankee Stadium this season.

We are live in the Yankee Stadium press box and will be providing weather updates throughout the game. Rain is scheduled to move in before game time (first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. local time) and be in the area throughout the evening.
