Now that the calendar has turned to May, it’s time to look back at which MLB sluggers had the biggest swings in April and blasted the five longest home runs of the month. All numbers throughout the article are courtesy of Statcast.

Which MLB players hit the five longest home runs in the month of April?

We start our list with two players who are tied for the fourth-longest home run of April. With a distance of 467 feet, let’s look at the long home run off the bat of Christian Walker of the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 24.

While Tylor Megill has pitched very well through his first five starts for the New York Mets (1.93 ERA/2.72 FIP/0.857 WHIP), this is a pitch he wish he hadn’t thrown.

Joining Walker at 467 feet is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays, who annihilated a pitch from Texas Rangers starter Spencer Howard on April 10. His blast was one of four home runs the Blue Jays hit off Howard in his three innings of work as Toronto built up an early 6-0 lead. However, Texas would come back with 12 unanswered runs to take the victory.

The Toronto slugger hit six home runs in April. Not only was this shot off Walker his longest of the month, but it was also his hardest hit ball of April as well, registering a 117.9 exit velocity.
