Houston Astros: Alex Bregman finally recognized for greatest accomplishment
Alex Bregman has already had a solid major league career. The Houston Astros third baseman is a two time All Star, won a Silver Slugger in 2019, was the runner up for the AL MVP award in that same season, and was a part of the 2017 World Series winning team. Although he is just 28 years old, Bregman has already made his mark.
However, his greatest accomplishment was not a part of his Baseball-Reference page. While the statistical encyclopedia focuses on what happens on the diamond, Bregman notably won Mike Trout’s infamous fantasy football league, evading any possible retribution from Tommy Pham along the way.

That has changed. Bregman’s player page has a new addition under his award section, as it is noted that he won Trout’s fantasy league. This, clearly, is worthy of attention given the notoriety that the league has generated recently.
It remains to be seen as to whether or not Bregman will get a chance to repeat. Trout had said that he is looking for someone to take the league over, so Bregman may have a place in fantasy sports history as the final champion of Mike Trout’s Fantasy League.
Chances are, he will add other awards to his page. Bregman is just entering his prime, and given his track record, is likely to tack on another All Star Game or three. The Astros are likely to win the AL West, yet another trek to the postseason and a potential chance at another championship. Otherwise, he could just look to add another fantasy football title to his resume and maybe get another line on his player page that way.
