2) Former New York Yankees infielder Andrew Velazquez with the Los Angeles Angels

In 2021 for the New York Yankees, Andrew Velazquez had one of his best offensive season in the majors.

He hit .224/.235/.358 with an OPS+ of 61 in 28 games (68 plate appearances). The Angels claimed him off of waivers from the Yankees in November just before the lockout started and, since, he really struggled with the team at the plate.

In 75 games, he has only hit .165/.208/.264 with an OPS+ of 34. His saving grace has been his defense as he has 10 Defensive Runs Saved (DRS).

It remains to be seen whether or not he will accept a minor league assignment, become a free agent, or if another team will claim him but his tenure in the majors with the Angels did not go very well at all.

3) Former New York Yankees first baseman Mike Ford … with multiple teams

Former New York Yankees first baseman Mike Ford has already been with three teams in the majors since the 2022 regular season started.

He was with the Yankees for each of the last three seasons and in 2021, he played in 22 games and he only hit .133/.278/.283 with an OPS+ of 57.

In 2022, he has been with the Seattle Mariners (twice, once in the majors), the San Francisco Giants, and the Atlanta Braves. Combined in the majors, Ford has only hit .162/.340/.189 with an OPS+ of 60. Currently, he is in Triple-A for the Braves. He was just optioned there this week when the club activated outfielder Eddie Rosario off of the injured list.
