The New York Mets are celebrating Women’s Day on Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field against the Cincinnati Reds, and the Mets players are going all in on the celebration by changing their walk-up music to reflect the day’s theme.

New York Mets change walk-up music to honor Women’s Day at Citi Field

Take a look at the playlist that New York Mets fans will hear every time several of their favorite players stride to the plate, as well as when starting pitcher Taijuan Walker takes his place on the mound. It’s a far different mix of music than any other day at Citi Field, but the Mets are taking the extra step in order to honor the power of women on Women’s Day.

One player not on the list is designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach, who is slated to bat cleanup in the game. Vogelbach, acquired in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 22, is slashing .333/.480/.564 with a pair of home runs and seven RBI in the 14 games since the trade. He has certainly put a boost in the DH spot for the Mets, who lead the National League East by 7.0 games over the Atlanta Braves heading into Wednesday’s tilt.

From Shania Twain to Beyoncé to Selena, the New York Mets will use the power of music to bond with their audience on Wednesday afternoon. It’s another win in what has been a victory-filled season at Citi Field.
