The Tampa Bay Rays are set to head to Milwaukee for a two game set. It could also be a trek out of infielder Yandy Diaz’s nightmares.

The Rays are set to stay at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The hotel has a reputation for being haunted, with guests, including other MLB players, saying that they have seen ghosts or dealt with paranormal activity. This is enough to spook Yandy Diaz, who even considered finding another place to stay during that series instead.

Tampa Bay Rays joke over Yandy Diaz fear of ghosts

Naturally, Rays players have been poking fun at Diaz about his fear of the hotel and associated ghosts. Other players have left cartoon ghosts in his locker and have rattled his doorknob during the night. Manager Kevin Cash joked that the ghosts might scare Diaz out of his slump at the plate.

It is, however, something that other players have taken seriously. There have been reports of people disappearing in corridors, clothes moving around, and impressions of people sitting and laying down on the bed. This reputation is well deserved.

It is also a possible advantage for the Brewers. Their opposition may not get much rest out of fear of those spectral happenings, their lack of rest haunting their performance on the diamond. Yes, there are other places that teams could stay, but the Pfister Hotel seems to be the primary choice for a reason.

Maybe the spirits will take it easy on Diaz. After all, their work is already done as he is already afraid of what may happen during the night. His imagination could conjure up far worse than anything that could be done by those ghosts.

The Tampa Bay Rays are hoping to scare up a win or two against the Brewers. Hopefully, the trip will not haunt Yandy Diaz going forward.
