A fan named Mark was absolutely not having a good time at the Milwaukee Brewers game come the eighth inning.
Not only were the Brewers trailing by two runs, but he was very publically shot down. The object of his interests put him squarely in the friend zone on the scoreboard, giving everyone in the ballpark a chance to join in his misery.
Milwaukee Brewers give Mark one reason to celebrate
That note certainly caught the attention of everyone in the ballpark. That included members of the Brewers as well, as outfielder Christian Yelich noted that the entire dugout saw the message. In turn, they decided to win one for Mark.
The Brewers were able to do just that. Garrett Mitchell hit his first major league homer to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth before Keston Hiura had a walk-off two run blast of his own to give the Brewers the victory. At least someone was able to come through for Mark.
As the Brewers themselves noted, we have all been there. There has been someone that we have been interested in that did not feel the same way. It can be difficult to deal with at first, but it is also time to move on.
The only difference is that few of us have ever gotten that same reaction in such a public setting as Mark did. However, few of us have also had an entire team decide to take up our cause and make certain that they won a ballgame just for us.
Mark may not have gotten everything he wanted at the ballgame last night. However, the Milwaukee Brewers gave him at least one victory.
