The action was not just on the field with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

A pair of Blue Jays fans were caught getting amorous in the 500 section during the game before being escorted out of the stadium. According to reports, no charges were filed against the couple.

It seems that such actions could be the latest fan trend. A pair of fans were caught on video engaging in sexual acts during an Oakland A’s game last week, although they likely felt that the almost empty stadium was as good a place as any since the likelihood of their being caught was minimal.

That was not the case in Toronto. Not only were there far more than the handful of fans that trickle into the Coliseum, but there were also fans just a few seats away. They could not have expected much privacy at any point in time before they were interrupted and escorted from the premises.

Maybe that is the point. Maybe this is now going to be some new ballpark challenge, right there with beer cup snakes and that one weirdo using a hot dog as a straw. The problem is that it is illegal and could land those caught in a good deal of trouble with the law going forward.

Chances are this will be something that teams will be more vigilant about going forward. Ushers and additional security measures may be needed. Otherwise, this could lead to the phrase ‘Take me out to the ball game’ having a completely different meaning.
