New York Yankees: Was Aaron Judge sending a message?
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge could be one of the biggest free agents available this coming offseason. However, as he chases the American League home run record established by former Yankees slugger Roger Maris, did Judge send a message to the Yankees with his choice of clothing on Monday night in Toronto?
Aaron Judge had an interesting clothing choice that has New York Yankees (and New York Mets) fans excited
Take a look at the shirt worn by Judge as he entered Rogers Centre on Monday night to take on the Toronto Blue Jays.
New York or nowhere? Was this a sign to the New York Yankees that Judge was wanting to make sure his career continued in the Bronx? Was it a subtle nod to the New York Mets, a team that is expected to vie for Judge’s services in the offseason if he chooses to explore free agency? Fans of both teams claimed victory when seeing the shirt.
And what about the San Francisco Giants, another team that has been linked to Judge as a potential landing spot should he choose to leave the Yankees?
There are plenty of questions heading into what could be a very interesting offseason for the 30-year-old Judge, who is expected to win the American League Most Valuable Player honors this season as the Yankees look to lock up the division and earn the second seed in the AL postseason. There will also be plenty of rumors about which way Judge might be leaning with his final decision, and which teams could actually be reasonable landing spots for him.
Aaron Judge was expected to make news on Monday as he continued to chase home run history, but his choice of clothing made more news on the night than Judge, who went 1-for-3 with a single against the Blue Jays.
