Athletes and celebrities have to with unwanted attention at any given time. Cleveland Guardians manager Terry Francona is no exception.

Such was the case on Friday after the Guardians’ 2-1 victory in Game One of the Wild Card round. According to Tom Withers of the Associated Press, Francona was riding his scooter home after the game when he was stopped by a woman who recognized him.

Once Francona stopped, the woman reportedly began removing her shirt. Naturally, Francona thought he was about to be flashed, something that may be considered an occupational hazard in his line of work. Instead, she revealed a t-shirt with his face on it.

One has to imagine that Francona is used to all sorts of nonsense as he rides his scooter to and from the ballpark. The longtime manager has likely had quite a few odd experiences and heard some colorful language on his journey, especially if the Guardians are in the midst of a losing streak.

It is also likely that Francona has been flashed on these rides before. Even if that was not the case, it was a fair expectation when the woman in question began to remove her shirt. Coming face to face with himself was likely the last thing that he would have expected in that situation.

Those shirts could become even more commonplace over the coming weeks. If the Guardians go on a deep postseason run, and manage to come away with their first championship since 1948, Francona would be even more revered than he already is. He might see his face staring back at him far more often.
