ST. LOUIS — With the Philadelphia Phillies taking a 1-0 lead over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday afternoon in their best-of-three National League Wild Card matchup, it’s possible that Saturday night will be the final game for Cardinals legends Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols.

That potential moment was not lost on Harper on Friday, when he praised both Cardinals players for the role they have played in MLB history. Knowing that history, however, Bryant said there is one piece of equipment from Molina that he wouldn’t mind having among his baseball memorabilia collection.

Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper dishes on the one piece of memorabilia he wants from St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina.

When asked on Friday if he had any memorabilia from Pujols or Molina, Harper said he did not, but there was one thing he would love to have.

“I would love a Yadi Molina Jordan chest protector,” Harper said. “That would be pretty cool, so I might ask for that one.”

Molina joined the Jumpman brand back in 2018 and the image of Michael Jordan flying through the air has been displayed on his chest protector ever since. Now Harper would like to have not only the image of Jordan in his collection, but knowing it was on a piece of equipment worn by arguably the greatest catcher in St. Louis Cardinals history is certainly an added perk.

While Molina’s career is winding down, the 29-year-old Harper is making history of his own this weekend at Busch Stadium, appearing in his first-ever postseason as a member of the Phillies. Heading into Friday’s Wild Card Game 1, Harper had posted an .801 OPS with 10 extra-base hits (four doubles, a triples, and five home runs) in 89 career postseason plate appearances, all with the Washington Nationals.
