The Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros are set to meet in the 2022 World Series, but that’s not the only event scheduled during that span of time when the two cities will battle it out for sports supremacy.

Philadelphia and Houston will cross paths in the World Series and on the NFL schedule during a big sports week

With the World Series set to begin on Friday, there is plenty of focus on if the Houston Astros can continue their postseason dominance or if the Philadelphia Phillies can continue their amazing postseason run as the National League’s sixth seed. There are three big storylines surrounding the Fall Classic matchup, beginning with Game 1 inside Minute Maid Park.

But it isn’t just on the diamond where the City of Brotherly Love and Space City will go head to head.

That’s right. The Philadelphia Eagles will head to south Texas to take on the Houston Texans as part of the NFL’s Thursday Night Football package on November 3. The game falls on an off day for the World Series, giving Houston and Philadelphia sports fans another opportunity for bragging rights in a different sport.

The Eagles-Texans game is scheduled on a day when the World Series would have (in theory) shifted from Game 5 in Philadelphia to Game 6 in Houston. With the Astros owning home-field advantage in the World Series, the Fall Classic will be played in south Texas for the first two and last two games of the scheduled seven-game series.
