San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants are going to be linked to every top shortstop. Dansby Swanson is not going to be an exception.

The Giants are aware that they need to upgrade their lineup if they are going to contend in the NL West next season. According to reports, they are aiming high, looking at Aaron Judge and a slew of shortstops to improve their roster.

Those are not the only pieces the Giants are going to need. They may need to add players at both corner infield spots, solidify their bullpen, and add another piece to the rotation. Although they do have plenty of room in their budget to add players for 2023 and beyond, the Giants do have a budget to deal with.

That could make Swanson the best option. He is a similar player to both Trevor Story and Javier Baez, potentially entering free agency at the same age. The six year, $140 million deal that those two players signed is likely close to what Swanson will get as well. That is also a contract that works within the Giants’ budget.

Dansby Swanson makes a lot of sense for the San Francisco Giants. The Atlanta Braves shortstop could end up being the right price for a deal to work.
