Boston Red Sox: Manny Ramirez wants to attempt a comeback
It has been over a decade since Manny Ramirez played in the majors. But that is not stopping the former Boston Red Sox legend from attempting a comeback.
This push is all because of the Yankees-Astros series. As he watched the Astros sweep the ALCS, Ramirez felt that he still has something to offer and is looking for a winter league opportunity in either Taiwan or Australia.

This is not the first comeback that Ramirez has attempted. He had played in Taiwan in 2013 and was briefly in the Cubs system in Triple-A in 2014. That led to a stint with the Aguilas Cibaenas during the 2014-15 Dominican Winter League season, but he was unable to get any offers and faded away.
Ramirez resurfaced once more in 2020. He had signed with the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League as he looked to start a comeback. However, an undisclosed medical issue led to his being unable to suit up in Australia as his comeback ended before it began.
There was a time when Ramirez was one of the most feared sluggers in the game. A 12 time All Star, he posted a .312/.411/.585 batting line with 555 homers and 547 doubles, driving in 1831 runs. However, his accomplishments were also tainted by his pair of failed PED tests which have kept him out of the Hall of Fame to this point.
If Ramirez was able to find his way back to the majors, it would reset his Hall of Fame clock. The problem is that he is 50 years old now and has not played at any level since 2015. Maybe he can latch on to a team as he hopes and impress enough to get that chance stateside once again. After all, he could not be much worse than the Yankees lineup during the ALCS.
