The Atlanta Braves may need to find a utility option for the infield depending on what happens with Dansby Swanson.

Should Swanson return, Vaughn Grissom and Orlando Arcia would be atop the depth chart at short. Grissom is a particularly intriguing player – a top prospect who performed well at second when pressed into service over the final few weeks. At the same time, it is fair to wonder if he can continue that production over a full season, especially as the league adjusts to him.

This would leave the Braves in need of a viable utility option in the infield, one who can handle both middle infield positions as well as third base. A possible solution happens to be on the Yankees, where Isiah Kiner-Falefa has become one of the more despised players on the roster for the fanbase.

In reality, Kiner-Falefa had a typically solid year in 2022. He posted a .261/.314/.327 batting line, numbers in line with his career norms. While there were concerns about his defense as he seemed to make errors at critical moments, he saved ten runs at short. He would certainly fit well as a utility infielder for the Braves for the upcoming season.

The Atlanta Braves could use another utility infielder if Vaughn Grissom takes over at short. Isiah Kiner-Falefa could be the perfect option.
