Willy Adames played his 250th game with the Milwaukee Brewers in their 7-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, April 12. In doing so, the 27-year-old shortstop joined a rare group of Brewers’ sluggers.

Adames has 54 home runs in his 250 games with Milwaukee. He became the eighth Brewers player in team history to have 50 or more home runs in his first 250 games with the club. In addition, the 54 homers from Adames is the sixth most of any Brewers player in his first 250 games with the franchise.

Adames has three home runs after 12 games this season. He hit 20 home runs in 99 games in 2021 and then hit a career-high 31 in 139 games last season.

Following are the eight Brewers players who have hit 50 or more home runs in their first 250 games with the Brewers:

Brewers players with 50+ home runs in their first 250 games with team

Christian Yelich-75
Ryan Braun-69
Richie Sexson-69
Rob Deer-60
Carlos Lee-57
Willy Adames-54
Travis Shaw-52
Eric Thames-52

The team may have another addition to the club. Rowdy Tellez has 44 home runs in 219 games with Milwaukee since he joined the club in 2021. He would need to hit six home runs in the next 31 games to become the ninth member of this club.

With 164 RBI in his first 250 games with Milwaukee, Adames became only the fifth Brewers player to have at least 54 home runs and 164 RBI in his first 250 games with the team. He joined Yelich (75-194), Braun (69-194), Sexson (69-203) and Lee (57-185) as the only Milwaukee players to reach those numbers in the first 250 games with the Brew Crew.

One more interesting stat about Adames’ 250-game start with the franchise: Adames has exactly 250 hits in his first 250 games with the Brewers. He became the 23rd player to reach that stat for the team. The other Brewers players to have at least 250 hits in their first 250 games with the team (in alphabetical order): Nori Aoki, Glenn Braggs, Ryan Braun, Lorenzo Cain, Cecil Cooper, Marquis Grissom, Tommy Harper, Carlos Lee, Casey McGehee, Paul Molitor, Don Money, Ben Oglivie, Lyle Overbay, Scott Podsednik, Aramis Ramirez, Ernie Riles, George Scott, Jean Segura, Kevin Seitzer, Richie Sexson, Fernando Vina, Christian Yelich.
