The Atlanta Braves will look to keep the Monday momentum going on Tuesday night against the Miami Marlins in a National League East matchup at Truist Park.

Atlanta was swept at home over the weekend by Houston, but regained its footing with an 11-0 victory over Miami on Monday night. Spencer Strider came within five outs of a no-hitter, recording a season-high 13 strikeouts as the Braves looked dominant in all facets of the game.

Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins: Probable starting pitchers

Taking the mound for Atlanta on Tuesday will be Charlie Morton, who is 2-2 with a 3.22 ERA in four starts this season. This will be the 22nd start of Morton’s career against the Marlins, and he has fared well against them in the past, putting together a 3.96 ERA over 122.2 innings.

Opposing Morton will be Bryan Hoeing, who will be making his 2023 MLB debut after having his contract selected and added to the 40-man roster. Hoeing saw action in eight games last season for the Marlins, starting one contest. He surrendered 17 runs in 12.2 innings with Miami last year.

Which Atlanta Braves player needs to bounce back in tonight’s game against the Marlins?

Ronald Acuña Jr. is 1-for-7 over his last two games, including an 0-for-4 performance last night at the top of the order, one of the few issues the Atlanta offense had on Monday. He’s back there on Tuesday against the Marlins, so watch to see if he can make amends for the previous night.

Still, that’s little to be worried about with Acuña slashing .358/.440/.537 on the season.
