In their 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on May 31, the Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff did not allow a walk. It was the fourth game this year that the Brew Crew staff did not allow a walk in a game … and the team is 4-0 in such games. The Brewers have now won 12 of their last 14 games when their pitchers had zero walks allowed in a game. Only the Texas Rangers (at 6-0) have a better record in MLB games when their pitching staff does not allow a walk in a game this season.

For the 2023 season (through games of May 31), teams are 76-28 (.673) when they do not allow a walk. The Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff has the most games with no walks with eight this season followed by five teams (Texas, San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego and Philadelphia) with six games each.

If we look at games going back to 2020 through May 31 of this year, the Dodgers and Cleveland Guardians pitching staffs have the most games with no walks with 43 each. In fact. 12 teams have had 30 or more games since 2020 when they did not allow a walk in a contest. The 12:

43-Cleveland, Los Angeles
39-Tampa Bay
38-Philadelphia
37-New York Yankees
36-Toronto
34-New York Mets
32-Detroit
31-Milwaukee
30-Miami, Minnesota, San Diego

Since 2020, MLB teams are 590-265 (.690 winning percentage) in games when their pitchers do not allow a walk. Five teams since 2020 have won 80% or higher of their games since 2020 when they do not allow a walk. Leading the way are the San Diego Padres who are 25-5 (.833) since the start of the 2020 MLB season when their pitchers do not allow a walk in a game.
