Fantasy baseball: 5 hitters to consider adding before the All-Star break

We are approaching the MLB All-Star Game and that’s the perfect time to evaluate hitters on your fantasy baseball roster. Let’s take a look at some hitters that have been hot recently that could give your offense a boost.

• Jose Siri is the primary center fielder for the Tampa Bay Rays because of his speed and defense, but he is tapping into some serious power recently. Siri has three home runs in five games and is up to 15 on the season. He hits in a great lineup which helps with run production and he steals bases as well. Siri will be useful all season long.
• Carlos Santana is the clean-up hitter for the Pittsburgh Pirates. That has given him plenty of opportunities to drive in runs and Santana has delivered with 13 RBI in his last 15 games. He is up to 41 on the season and should continue to produce as long as Pittsburgh’s offense keeps rolling.
• Ezequiel Tovar is starting to take off for the Colorado Rockies. It took him some time to adjust to the majors, but he has figured things out and has an 11-game hit streak. Tovar has 36 runs and RBI and is now batting second in the order, so his production should get even better. Playing half of his games at Coors Field doesn’t hurt either.
• Ha-Seong Kim has had a productive season for the San Diego Padres. He has 13 stolen bases and now is starting to flash some power. Kim has four homers in his last seven games. He is San Diego’s primary second baseman and bats in a lineup that is full of stars, so his production should continue all season long.
• TJ Friedl has been red hot for the Cincinnati Reds. He has homered in back-to-back games and his average is up to .320. He is Cincinnati’s leadoff man against right-handers so the run production should continue with exciting hitters behind him like Elly De La Cruz. Friedl also has 14 steals … and playing half of his games in Cincinnati will only help his production the rest of the way.

These five hitters can give your fantasy baseball team a boost in multiple categories. They are all rostered in less than 20% of ESPN leagues so they are widely available. I expect that number to only go up as they should all be rostered in the next few weeks.
