It’s August 1, which means it is officially MLB trade deadline day. With a flurry of MLB rumors swirling out there around a myriad of teams, we are making this your one-stop shop for the latest information.

MLB rumors tracker: What we’re hearing about the MLB trade deadline

We will be keeping this page up to date through the 6 p.m. (Eastern) MLB trade deadline with the latest MLB rumors. Make sure you are hitting refresh on your browser on this page to make sure you are seeing the latest information on this page. We will timestamp when we post something so you’ll know exactly when we’re seeing something out there on Twitter/X or hearing something from our MLB insider, Robert Murray. We will also be adding the newest information on the bottom of the page.

Pittsburgh Pirates are weighing offers on multiple players, including pitchers, reports Jon Heyman on Twitter/X

9:30 a.m. ET —

New York Mets will not be trading Pete Alonso, contrary to the rumors flying, says Jon Heyman.

Speaking of the Mets, are these concerns about the direction of the franchise? Joel Sherman of The New York Post weighs in here.

We’re still seeing mixed signals about the future of Alex Verdugo in Boston. With him being a free agent at the end of the season, will he be traded?

9:40 a.m. ET — 

If the Cubs are indeed still thinking about trading Marcus Stroman, has his value gone down with recent starts? The numbers from ESPN.com’s Jesse Rogers aren’t pretty.

9:50 a.m. ET — 

The Angels are still trying to add another pitcher, reports Jon Morosi. Los Angeles has been incredibly active in an effort to not only make the postseason, but show Shohei Ohtani they are serious about winning.

More buzz around Verlander and the Orioles, from Buster Olney…

Also, Morosi is putting the Cardinals and Marlins together as potential trade partners, tweeting, “Miami GM Kim Ng would like to add offense, and Marlins manager Skip Schumaker has close knowledge of STL’s available bats.”

10:40 a.m ET —

Buster Only of ESPN is predicting a wild end to the trade deadline, with part of his tweet reading, “a barrage of starting pitcher deals completed today, maybe in the last couple of hours before the deadline, as desperation begins to factor in for buyers and sellers.”

Also, more on the Cardinals from Morosi, with part of his tweet saying, “Cardinals have been active in trade conversations last night and this morning. They’re willing to move multiple bats.”

10:55 a.m. ET —

11:05 a.m. ET —

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com tweets, “The Pirates continue to get hits on Austin Hedges, Rich Hill and Ji Man Choi, per sources, but no deals are imminent.”

11:10 a.m. ET —

Jon Heyman reporting that “Dodgers are in hot pursuit of Eduardo Rodriguez now” as well as Verlander.

11:30 a.m. ET —

Heyman reporting that the San Diego Padres are the “mystery team” in on Verlander.

Another name to watch for the Padres? Eduardo Rodriguez from the Tigers, tweets Feinsand.

11:50 a.m. ET —

An interesting note from Joel Sherman in his New York Post article about Verlander … “Steve Cohen’s willingness to pay down the approximately $93 million that Verlander is owed going forward — if his 2025 $35 million option is triggered — would potentially put any contender into play.”

11:52 a.m. ET —

Could the Yankees really be sellers? Buster Olney seems to doubt it.

The Toronto Blue Jays have reached out to the Cardinals about Paul DeJong, tweets Derrick Goold of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

12:51 p.m. ET —

Mark Feinsand tweets that the talks between the Mets and Astros for Verlander “have really cooled down today.

12:53 p.m. ET —

We have a trade between the Rockies and Braves

1:06 p.m. —

The Padres and Pirates have made a deal.

1:23 p.m. —

The Diamondbacks have talked to the Tigers about Michael Lorenzen, per Morosi.

1:40 p.m. —

Toronto and St. Louis have finalized another trade it seems, sending Paul DeJong to the Blue Jays, tweets Morosi.

1:43 p.m. —

The Royals could be very busy trading away players this afternoon, tweets Feinsand.

1:46 p.m. —

Feinsand tweets that “it is ‘mostly rentals’ that are available” on the starting pitching market, so no Dylan Cease.. However, it has been tweeted that “White Sox will trade anyone except Luis Robert.”

2 p.m. —

Rockies have acquired LHP Justin Bruihl from the Dodgers for cash considerations, Feinsand said.

2:15 p.m. —

Yankees and Cardinals still discussing Dylan Carlson, Feinsand says.

Not trade-related, but St. Louis will lose Brendan Donovan for the rest of the year after undergoing surgery, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Also, Eduardo Rodriguez blocked a trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers,Jeff Passan reports.
