It appears that Jose Ramirez isn’t the only one in the Cleveland Guardians organization who is willing to take a swing at Tim Anderson of the Chicago White Sox.

The Lake County Captains, the High-A affiliate of the Guardians, is hopping on the aftermath of the Guardians-White Sox skirmish on Saturday where Ramirez knocked Anderson to the ground. In true minor league fashion, the Captains saw an opportunity to sell some tickets and are running with a very unique promotion. And, in an ironic twist, the Captains are scheduled to play the South Bend Cubs, the High-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, so there will be a Chicago tie-in with the promotion as well (even though it’s that team from the other side of the city).

Announced on Monday morning, the promotion has already picked up steam on social media, with plenty of fans giving the Captains a thumbs up for the ingenuity.

And don’t worry, the Captains are going to make sure that every variation of Tim get their free ticket to the game.

While there are plenty of Cleveland fans who wonder exactly what the team was doing at the MLB trade deadline by trading away Aaron Civale, all Guardians fans can get behind this promotion after a seemingly innocent slide into second base turned into a melee in Saturday’s American League Central battle at Progressive Field.

“He said he wanted to fight and if he wanted to fight I had to defend myself,” Ramirez reportedly told media after the game.

Despite the melee that included Anderson being knocked to the ground by Ramirez, Chicago ended up winning the game by a 7-4 count. It’s expected Anderson, Ramirez and others will face suspensions for their actions.
