Opening Day marks the start of a new season and action. When it comes to baseball, you never know what to expect.
Sometimes, history likes to repeat itself, and this was the case (again) this season for one player. Let's take a look at some of the momentous action that had fans yearning for more.
Opening Day highlights that brought the wow factor
Tyler O'Neil continues ridiculous Opening Day streak

The Baltimore Orioles added fuel to the fire by smashing six home runs on Opening Day against the Toronto Blue Jays. Tyler O'Neill was one wolf from the pack of home run hitters. It came as a surprise with Blue Jays ace Jose Berrios on the mound, but his usual reliability just didn't surface.
O'Neill has now homered on six consecutive Opening Days. The power hitter made a lasting first impression on the Orioles following the 31 home runs he hit with the Boston Red Sox last season.
O'Neill signed with the Orioles during the offseason on a three-year, $49.5 million deal. His offseason signing was, without question, underrated. O'Neill is proving to be an offensive presence with his new team. He could very well be a secret weapon for the Orioles as they look to avenge their AL Wild Card round loss from last season.
Rookie Burke lifts White Sox above .500
Opening Day nod?

No problem for @whitesox rookie Sean Burke:

It's not every day that a rookie pitcher takes the mound, but this was the case for Sean Burke. He provided the hapless Chicago White Sox with six quality, scoreless innings. He only surrendered three hits and didn't walk a batter.
MLB Pipeline ranks him as the No. 13 prospect in the team's farm system, but with the way he pitched on the mound, no one would have ever guessed that. He helped the White Sox earn a convincing victory, which is something they could rarely say last year. He also defied the odds as a rookie in just his fourth career start, which is pretty impressive.
Wilyer Abreu comes through in the clutch for Red Sox

Abreu belted not one but two home runs in the Boston Red Sox's 5-2 victory over the Texas Rangers. Abreu's first home run came in the fifth inning and tied the game. But Abreu's second home run was particularly celebratory, as it proved to be the game-winning home run in the ninth inning.
Overall, Abreu was the hero of the game for the Red Sox. He was undeniably on a quest to provide the Red Sox with victory on Opening Day. He finished off the day going 3-3 with two home runs and four RBIs. It's just a one-game sample, but Abreu currently has an OPS of 4.000.
The Red Sox could very well be a sleeper team this season, especially if Abreu emerges as a reliable source of offense.
