As November winds down, let's take a look at some of the latest MLB rumors, news and notes involving the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres.

Toronto Blue Jays rumors: Interest in Guerrero, Bichette for potential trades

According to Ken Rosenthal in this article for The Athletic (subscription required), the Blue Jays are "getting calls on first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as well as (Bo) Bichette." However, Rosenthal goes on to write that those calls may not go anywhere because, "it makes little sense for the Jays to move either star when they are under pressure to win and believed to be pursuing Shohei Ohtani."

Bichette has been linked to the Chicago Cubs in recent days as a potential trade partner, with the thought being the Cubs would use him at third base. However, all of those rumors involving the Blue Jays may be nothing more than just rumors.

San Diego Padres rumors: Juan Soto trade imminent?

While there are plenty of reasons why the Padres would try to hang on to Soto and keep him as a part of the lineup in 2024 and beyond, Rosenthal believes Soto's time in San Diego is limited because of his cost, writing, "The question is not whether Soto will be traded. The question is which team will acquire him."

Of course, if the Padres are going to trade him, they have to get the best return possible. That could kick off a bidding war among teams (including the New York Yankees as has been reported in the past) looking to bring the 25-year-old slugger on board.

Chicago Cubs rumors: NL Central bidding war coming for starting pitching?

It appears the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs may go head-to-head in trying to land starting pitching via a trade, writes MLB insider Jon Morosi.

After the St. Louis Cardinals gobbled up pitchers early in the offseason, will their NL Central foes answer via trade? It's something to keep an eye on as the Winter Meetings approach.
