Francisco Liriano is back in action with the Twins, as the starter takes the mound tonight for Minnesota against the Cleveland Indians.

Liriano had been sidelined since late May with shoulder inflammation.  He last made an appearance in Arizona on the 22nd of May, allowing 2 earned runs over 6 innings.

Liriano’s 2011 season has been the definition of erratic.  In an April 27th start against the Tampa Bay Rays, the lefty was unable to make it out of the third inning, allowing 7 runs.  In his next start, Liriano was able to no hit the Chicago White Sox.

The 27 year old carried an ERA of 5.73 with him to the disabled list.  He had actually lowered it to that point over his past two starts.
