If you recall, last weekend the Florida Marlins designated pitcher Cristhian Martinez for assignment. Since then, he has been claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves.
Martinez appeared in 15 games last year for the Florida Marlins, in where he posted a 5.13 ERA in 26.1 innings pitched. However, he spent most of the 2009 season with the marlins triple A affiliate as he pitched 104 innings while having a record of 9-3 and an ERA of 2.94.
The Atlanta Braves have placed Martinez on their triple A squad.
