Twins Span Resumes Baseball Related Activities

On the same evening Minnesota saw the return of two important starters, the club received good news on another injured player.  The team announced Denard Span has begun participating in baseball related activities.

Span started throwing yesterday and could get back in the batting cage this weekend.  While the center fielder is showing improvement, the team still has no set time table for Span’s return.

The 27 year old landed on the disabled list after suffering a concussion during a June 3rd contest against the Royals.  Span collided at the plate with Royals’ catcher Brayan Pena.

Span has been just one of the many Twins players to land on the DL this season.  The injuries were one of the reasons the Twins were one of the worst teams in baseball entering June.

However, Minnesota has been on fire this month.  They’ve put up a record of 15-5 in June, taking them from 20 games under .500 to only 9 games back of the mark.

With several key starters still on the disabled list, Minnesota should only continue to get stronger as we approach July.
