White Sox Danks Feels Close to 100%

The disabled list is new territory for White Sox starter John Danks and it’s not somewhere he wants to be very long.  The left hander was only placed on the DL Sunday but already says he feels close to 100%.

Danks underwent an MRI Monday that showed the strain that’s sidelined him is only of the mild variety and he hopes to rejoin the team as soon as he’s eligible, just after the All-Star break.

"“That’s a blessing,” Danks said. “I get to leave the training room for a while. There’s still no running or baseball activity, but I’m definitely able to move around a lot better.”"

The 26 year old would rather avoid a rehab start, but expects Chicago to send him to the minors before he’s activated.

"“I’ve never gone two weeks in a season without throwing,” Danks said Tuesday. “It isn’t my decision. I’d be willing to throw side sessions (in the bullpen) and get ready, but I imagine the plan is to go somewhere and at least get a start under my belt.”"
