Results are getting set to be revealed by Major League Baseball and the BBWAA later today, as the two will reveal the names of those players who will make up the 2015 Baseball Hall of Fame class that will be celebrated this summer in Cooperstown, New York. The official announcement will be made at 2:00 PM EST on MLB Network.
MLB Network’s announcement show, scheduled for four hours beginning at 11:00 AM EST, is expected to include a host of analysis and opinions from some well-known Hall of Fame voters and prominent members of the media, including Ken Rosenthal, Peter Gammons, Tom Verducci, and others.
A year ago the BBWAA elected in three players – Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and Frank Thomas – and early indications are that there could be another large class of inductees this year. The BBWAA hasn’t voted in more than three players in a single year since 1955 but we could be looking at at least four players named in today’s announcement – including Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz, and Craig Biggio.
MLB Network and MLB.com will carry a live press conference at 11:00 AM EST on Wednesday.
The 2015 Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be held on July 26th.
