After playing the Reds on Monday and Tuesday, the Giants may want to pull the trigger on a Jay Bruce trade. Why? Well, he made himself at home crushing three home runs and five RBI at AT&T Park in two games.

The Giants have been on the Jay Bruce radar for a while now, and if Hunter Pence can’t come back 100 percent, Bruce would be a great fill-in. Gregor Blanco is the current right fielder in San Fran, and isn’t doing so hot.

He’s put together a slash line of .241/.326/.345. While he’s done an okay job of filling in as a third outfielder, the Giants could do better. It looks like the race in the West will come right down to the wire with the Giants and Dodgers, and Bruce could put them over the edge. Not to mention, the Dodgers are also trying to acquire Bruce.

If Pence returns soon, and the Giants acquire Bruce, they could move one of them to left in replacement of Angel Pagan. Pagan is having a good year, but Bruce would be a replacement over him. Plus, having an experienced playoff veteran off the bench in October is a major plus.

However, to get this deal done the Giants will need to include a couple of their top pieces. Shortstop Christian Arroyo is their top prospect, but ranks just #70 on the MLB.com top prospects list. If the Giants are willing to trade both him and another top five prospect, they may be able to make a deal.
