#5 Ryan Zimmerman

Ryan Zimmerman is a player who is overpaid with what now looks to be a very regrettable contract. After losing a step or two and struggling to throw the ball from third. Zimmerman was moved from third to first and made the move well. He did a great job transitioning with little time to do so. However, he has still struggled to stay on the field this season spending extended time on the disabled list.

Despite his recent struggles, fans often forget what Zimmerman has brought to their franchise. He has long been a National and spent many seasons as the Nationals unquestioned best player on the roster. While those days may be gone there is no question he still has some of that talent and has given his all to the Washington franchise.

Zimmerman has driven in over 800 runners and hit more than 200 home runs in his Nationals career. His best season as a National came in 2009 when he hit 33 homers while driving in 106 while hitting at a .292 clip. Zimmerman may be overpaid and have seen his better days but that does not mean Nationals fans should forget what he has given to the franchise and will continue to.
